What

Well, it’s our wedding, of course. We got engaged last September (pictures and story here), and we’ve been spending this year preparing for our wedding. As of this writing (early April 2004), we’ve taken care of most of the arrangements, but there are still a few major things to do. It’s mostly all been fun (especially the cake-tasting part, less so the checking-out-thirty-odd-possible-wedding-locations part), but now we’ve started into the more reflective part of our engagement, spending time preparing ourselves for making the transition into marriage. Our wonderful rabbi, Jhos Singer, will not only officiate our wedding, but over the next several months she’ll be helping us work out what form it will take and guiding us in learning the wide range of Jewish spirituality as it relates to marriage. She’s smart, funny, and makes any ceremony a meaningful experience. You’re in for a treat.

Where

The ceremony will take place in a redwood grove in the Oakland hills. The reception will be at a fantastic seafood restaurant in Oakland’s Jack London Square.
